Enforcement of REAL ID Requirement for Domestic Air Travel

Effective May 7, 2025, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will enforce the REAL ID Act.This means you’ll need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another TSA-approved form of identification to pass through airport security checkpoints for all domestic flights.

1. Verify if your driver’s license or state-issued ID meets REAL ID requirements.
2. Find out if you are REAL ID ready using the Department of Homeland Security interactive tool.
3. If your ID is non-compliant, please take steps to obtain a REAL ID-compliant credential or another form of acceptable identification that complies with REAL ID security standards.
