Amtrak is the University's preferred rail provider and Columbia Travelers may book negotiated rates on domestic rail travel to select North East markets on Amtrak via the Concur Travel Online Booking Tool.
Rail travel booked in Concur or through World Travel using the Columbia Air/Rail Central Pay method will be paid by the University.
Important Notes
Coach must be selected when traveling on Amtrak Regional rail. If you select a cabin class on Amtrak Regional rail that is not Coach, it will require expense segregation and cost comparison for the difference in fare which exceeds coach and justification which must be acknowledged by a Financial Approver.
Business class must be selected when traveling on Amtrak Acela. If you select a cabin class on Amtrak Acela that is not Business Class, it will require expense segregation and cost comparison for the difference in fare which exceeds Acela Business Class and justification which must be acknowledged by a Financial Approver.
